Spaces

Located at 1801 Maple in downtown Evanston, InQbation Lab provides a range of spaces designed to support early-stage ventures as they grow. From private wet labs to drop-in desks and shared conference rooms.

To use the space, startups can apply to be a resident here. Community members — such as investors, alumni, and the Northwestern community — contact our team to request space use.

Access to office suits include additional amenities for Q resident startups including small and large conference rooms, communal tables, workstations, an area dedicated to office support, as well as a kitchen. Office suite space is found on the 6th floor of the Querrey InQbation Lab. Private startup offices are available for 2-5 people.

Life science wet labs (625 sq feet) on the 5th floor of the Querrey InQbation Lab offer startups general lab amenities: a fume hood, bench and cabinet space, lab stools, gas storage, general equipment space, access to shared lab equipment.

Physical science labs, located on the 6th floor, offer similar amenities. Startups also have access to shared scientific equipment and amenities.

Shared Lab Space

Ideal for teams that aren't ready to build out a full lab but still need access to specialized infrastructure and equipment. Shared lab spaces include:

  • Life Sciences Lab
  • Maker Space

These spaces are located throughout 1801 Maple and available to residents based on project needs and availability. Use is coordinated through the InQbation Lab team.

Shared Life Science Lab

The shared life science lab, named "37C," occupies 300 sq. ft. on the 5th floor at 1801 Maple Avenue. Access to the space is available to all InQbation Lab residents. 37C features a variety of wet lab instrumentation ideal for mammalian tissue culture and cellular and molecular biology research.

Community Space

The community space is found on the 1st floor of the InQbation Lab and features workstations, collaborative seating areas, as well as private meeting rooms and offices. The majority of Q Lab programming is hosted in this open and inviting space. The space is open to all InQbation Lab residents and affiliates, and can be reserved when available. It's used regularly for pitch practices, lunch-and-learns, founder gatherings, and casual work sessions.

Flexible, multipurpose area used for events, workshops, meetings, and informal collaboration. Features include:

  • Large screen for presentations
  • Flexible seating
  • Whiteboards for collaboration
  • Kitchenette

The community common space is an open area to be shared by the entire InQbation Lab community. The space features soft seating, hightop communal seating, café style seating, enclosed Heya chairs, as well as a privacy phone booth.

This common space can be transformed to host InQbation Lab events that require classroom seating, open space for social gatherings, and anything in-between.
