Northwestern's entrepreneurial faculty and resident startups can take advantage of resources that include mentorship, legal assistance, discounts, funding, work spaces and more.

The InQbation Lab offers private offices for resident startups, private and shared labs, foundries, conference rooms, classrooms and collaborative workspaces.

Lab machinery

Ideal for teams that aren't ready to build out a full lab but still need access to specialized infrastructure and equipment. Shared lab spaces include:

  • Wet Lab
  • Life Sciences Lab
  • Maker Space
  • Shared Equipment Room – with centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, and more

These spaces are located throughout 1801 Maple and available to residents based on project needs and availability. Use is coordinated through the InQbation Lab team.

Startup Resources

Scientist at work in a labResident startups are housed in furnished, move-in-ready spaces ranging from:

  • Individual desks
  • Private offices
  • Shared Lab
  • Wet labs

Startups also have access to shared scientific equipment and amenities, as well as internal and external accelerators, reimbursement opportunities and a shared library of resources.

Mentor Network

The Mentor Network connects aspiring and current Northwestern entrepreneurs with a strong roster of alumni advisors. Experienced founders, investors, and industry professionals offer pro bono office hours.

This resource is designed especially for those bringing technologies out of Northwestern research labs.

Foundry

Shared pre-incubation spaces that house equipment to align experimentation, validation, optimization, and scale-up for our Q residents. Includes:

  • State-of-the-art liquid-handling robotics
  • High-throughput screening systems
  • Biological characterization platforms
